How to live with an AALAY piece.

Each AALAY piece has a specific Care Guide on its product page. General guidance, by material:

Matte Ceramic-PLA & Sandstone-PLA

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfiber. Avoid chemical cleaners. Do not expose to direct moisture for extended periods. Layer lines can collect dust — a soft brush works well.

Translucent Bio-Silk

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Dry immediately. Avoid abrasive sponges. Direct daylight every few weeks keeps the resin lively.

Wood-PLA

Re-oil every 12 months with a clear mineral oil to keep the surface alive. Avoid direct moisture. Do not place in direct sunlight for extended periods.

Brass-Aged Metal

Polish gently with a soft cloth every 6 months. The patina will develop further with time — this is a feature, not a flaw. Do not use chemical brass cleaners on aged pieces.

Bulb replacement

Always switch off and unplug the piece before replacing a bulb. Wattage and socket type are listed on the product page under Specifications. We recommend warm-white LED for the most flattering light.
